Course Objective:

• To provide participants with the skills and knowledge to undertake Pendant Crane (single hook) operation.

Unit of Competency:

• TLID0008 – Shift Loads Using Bridge or Gantry Crane

Course Content:

• Prepare work for prevailing working conditions 
• Operate bridge or gantry crane
• Locate load and identify load characteristics 
• Operate bridge or gantry crane to safely move load
• Shut down and secure crane

 Assessment:

• Theory Assessment
• Practical Assessment

Course Award:

• Statement of Attainment

Course Prerequisites:

• Photographic identification is required to attend this course
• 18 years of age or over to operate
• Ability to use and understand basic English

• Personal Protective Equipment to be worn e.g. Hard hat, safety footwear, high visibility vest/clothing
• All students will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to receive their certificates and or cards. About the CITB:

The CITB is a whole-of-industry led organisation that provides support to attract, train and retain South Australian building and construction workers by providing leadership in training and skills development.

Short Course Training:

The objective of CITB’s Short Course Training program is to raise the level of skill in the construction industry workforce by engaging Eligible Persons in training and skill development activities. CITB facilitates training opportunities and endeavours to ensure that CITB funded training meets both quality standards and industry requirements.

Each financial year, Eligible Persons with an approved CITB number can obtain up to $3,000 of training subsidies off any CITB endorsed short course, with a CITB endorsed training provider.
To obtain the short course subsidises, an approved CITB number must be provided to the training provider upon enrolment.
